One lucky Lottery winner claims huge £7,300,000 jackpot just before Christmas
A single-ticket holder has claimed the £7.3 million Lotto jackpot prize, following last Saturday’s draw.
Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, confirmed today that it has received ‘a very merry pre-Christmas claim’ for the prize.
Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at Allwyn, said: ‘We’re delighted that this life-changing Lotto jackpot prize has now been claimed.
‘What a wonderful win, especially during the festive season, just imagine what Christmas Day itself could look like for this lucky winner.
‘Our focus is now on supporting the ticket-holder through the process so they can start enjoying their win as soon as possible.’
Before the winner receives their money – which comes to £7,389,095 – the ticket will need to be validated.
They can then decide whether or not to go public with the win.
There’s another chance to win big on Christmas Day, when the £15M ‘Must Be Won’ draw takes place.
Andy added: ‘Even if no ticket-holder were to match all six numbers to scoop the jackpot, because it is a ‘Must Be Won’ draw, players will win big as the jackpot will roll down to boost all the other prize tiers.
‘Get your tickets early to be in with a chance of making this Christmas Day even more magical.’
Last month a player who bought their ticket in the UK won £177,033,699.20 in the EuroMillions.
It’s the third highest lottery prize ever won the UK, coming behind two jackpots in 2022.
