Christina Applegate Reveals When She First Started Experiencing MS Symptoms
Christina Applegate opened up about when she first started to experience symptoms of what would later be diagnosed as multiple sclerosis.
The 53-year-old actress revealed that she’d received the diagnosis in 2021 and has since spoken candidly about her experience with the illness.
During a recent episode of her MeSsy podcast with Jamie-Lynn Singler, Christina explained that the symptoms began years prior to that.

She said that the “first sign of MS” appeared while filming the pilot for her show Dead to Me, which premiered in 2019 and ran for three seasons.
“I remember falling that day,” she shared, via People. “Hi, first sign of MS! So, not to bring everybody down, but there it was.”
Series creator Liz Feldman recalled the moment, too.
“I remember you losing your balance when we were shooting the pilot a couple of times,” she said. “It was very hard to figure it out because, you know, I remember one time, it was really late at night. We’d been shooting probably 14 or 15 hours … It seemed completely reasonable that anybody would be collapsing.”
Christina said, “It was MS.”
She recently opened up about some painful symptoms that she’s experiencing.
