How Selena Gomez's style evolved as she became a billionaire

Gomez, 32, might have entered the Hollywood scene as a young Disney Channel star in jeans and T-shirts.

Eventually, however, she swapped her casual looks for metallic gowns, bold cutouts, and fun, colorful minidresses.

Her style often merged classic pieces with edgy trends and crossed a wide range of aesthetics. Still, Gomez's fashion always steadily evolved with her and her career.

She began working with stylist Erin Walsh that year. Together, the duo experimented with flashy, skin-baring gowns, pops of red, and chic business attire.

Gomez hasn't flaunted her wealth with her style — but she has embraced luxury.

In May, she attended the Cannes Film Festival to promote her film "Emilia Pérez," and she looked like a classic Hollywood star on the red carpet.

Gomez wore a black Saint Laurent gown with white, off-the-shoulder sleeves, Santoni heels, and statement diamonds from Bulgari.

At the August premiere of "Only Murders in the Building," Gomez sported a $555 halter dress from Self-Portrait.

It had a lace neckline with a silver bow attached and black sparkles from top to bottom.

The chic design was an elevated version of the youthful minidresses she's worn throughout her career. Gomez completed the look with $3,264 Roger Vivier heels and Marli jewels.

For the Toronto International Film Festival in September, Gomez donned a sparkling Rodarte gown with a halter neckline, peplum waist, and rose appliqué.

It was her jewelry, however, that stole the show. She wore a variety of Tiffany and Co. rings and dangling earrings.

Walsh described Gomez's look on Instagram as "the divine feminine."

At the 2024 Emmy Awards, she wore a black velvet gown with glitter-covered halter straps. The Ralph Lauren design, which was made specifically for Gomez, also had a mermaid-style skirt that pooled around her feet.

The actor amplified the classic gown with Tiffany and Co. jewels and Ralph Lauren heels.

In September, Gomez attended the New York Film Festival. As has become customary for the actor, she wore all black.

Vera Wang custom-made the halter, scoop-neck gown for Gomez. It featured a floor-length skirt, a form-fitting bodice, and a large bow attached at the back. There were also matching over-the-elbow gloves.

Gomez wore the dress with an assortment of rings and earrings from Tiffany and Co.

Just look at the Schiaparelli gown she wore to the 2024 London Film Festival in October.

The velvet dress extended to the floor and had a gold-encrusted keyhole in the center of its bodice.

Baublebar jewelry and Louboutin heels completed the luxurious look.

For the 2024 Academy Museum Gala, the Rare Beauty founder wore a custom piece from Alaïa. It had a leather bralette beneath a blue velvet gown with a deep, scooped neckline.

The fabric looked rich and timeless but also fashion-forward when paired with leather detailing and chunky silver accessories from Tiffany and Co.

She recently attended The Hollywood Reporter's Women in Entertainment Gala while wearing a $585 midi dress from Self-Portrait.

The elegant piece had white ruffles across its sleeves and an off-the-shoulder neckline, which added a feminine touch to its dark fabric.

For accessories, Walsh dressed Gomez in Chopard jewels and Manolo Blahnik heels.
