Jane Moore takes a swipe at I’m A Celeb co-stars as she becomes the first to leave the jungle after camp feud
JANE Moore has taken a swipe at her I’m A Celeb co-stars after leaving the jungle on Friday night.
Sun columnist Jane, 62, was first to leave this year’s series of the ITV show on Friday night following a public vote.
And she took the opportunity to open up about her time in the jungle while chatting to Ant and Dec in her exit interview – hinting that some camp mates are “showmen.”
Jane, who made no secret of the fact that she was disappointed to be in charge of washing up in camp, said: “I had three jobs before then, I worked like a dog and then they gave me the washing up so I wasn’t pleased about that. I did a lot down there but hard work doesn’t pay off as I’m the first one out, people don’t notice hard work.
“The more people get voted off, it will get apparent who isn’t doing that much. I would like to see the quiet hard workers win, there’s a lot of showmen in there. I want Coleen [Rooney] or Melvin [Odoom] to win, they’re not flamboyant.
The honest Loose Women star went on to say on the spin-off show, I’m A Celeb… Unpacked that she was “disappointed” to be out first.
Jane told host Sam Thompson: “I would have liked to have been second or third, I knew I wasn’t going to make it the whole way. But I can’t say that anyone deserved to be out before me. My camp bestie was Danny.
“We discussed at one point that maybe we were all getting on too well because viewers like it when there’s drama, but we couldn’t do it.
“I think you need to ask Melvin if Dean was pulling his weight. There are the show people in the camp, that are providing the entertainment, maybe people that are providing good TV. There are hard workers that allow them to be flamboyant.”
It comes as Jane’s Loose Women co-star, Ruth Langsford, said camp will “fall apart” without Jane.
Speaking on I’m A Celebrity spin-off show Unpacked, Ruth asked: “Who’s going to do the washing up now?”
She also insisted the camp will “fall apart” now hard-working Jane is no longer in there.
Ruth added: “Nobody wants to go out first, do they?
“I’m so gutted for her, I really am.”
Jane survived 12 days in the I’m A Celebrity jungle before falling short in the public vote.
She was reunited with her daughters Ellie, 32, and Grace, 20, after saying goodbye to the other 11 celebs.
Speaking in more detail about Jane, Ruth told Unpacked’s Joel Dommett: “She says what she thinks and won’t change her mind, but people saw the caring side of her.
“People are just talking so much more and I think she’s been very responsible for that.
“I’m gutted for her because she’s always wanted to do this show. She’s such a traveller and loves challenges.”
Ruth is convinced Jane will have “no hard feelings” for the fact she has been evicted from the camp.
But making a dig at some of the less hardworking campmates in the jungle, she added: “[Jane] makes a great point.
“There are people quietly getting on with things and without them, things will fall apart.
“Who will do the washing up now?”
