‘The Masked Singer 12’ Episode 9 recap: Who was eliminated in ‘Peanuts Night’ Group C Final?
Happy Thanksgiving, America! Tonight, it was the “Peanuts Night” extravaganza on “The Masked Singer” and the whole beloved Peanuts gang was there to celebrate. Nothing says “Thanksgiving” like A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, which has served up over 50 years of family fun, traditions and memories! Panelists Rita Ora and Robin Thicke made turkey day dreams come true with their showstopping rendition of “You Make My Dreams Come True.” Then, the Group C finals commenced with a Battle Royale and double elimination! So who advanced to the Quarterfinals on Thursday, Nov. 28?
The Season 12 contestants boast 21 Grammy nominations, 14 Emmy nominations, and 202 film appearances. Five of them even know Taylor Swift! Play detective with panelists Robin Thicke, Rita Ora, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, and Ken Jeong. Nick Cannon hosts the wild and wacky fun on FOX!
At the end of this Peanuts extravaganza, it was Royal Knight who had to pull off her mask first following a performance of “Holiday” by Madonna. Despite her smooth, sultry vocals on the pop hit and Robin saying, “You gobbled that performance up,” Royal Knight fell short of the Quarterfinals. Her final clue revealed she was a best-selling author, which led panelists to guess she was Kelly Ripa (Ken), Anna Faris (Rita), Jana Kramer (Jenny) or Busy Phillips (Robin). When the mystery celeb pulled off her mask, it was actually Jenny’s guess, “One Tree Hill” star and country singer, Jana Kramer!
Next, Sherlock Hound’s mystery came to an end following his Battle Royale loss to Strawberry Shortcake. Earlier in the night he won the audience over with “Ho Hey” by The Lumineers, with Ken calling him his “sentimental favorite.” His clues led the panelists to guess Sherlock Hound was Bronson Arroyo (Robin), Hozier (Rita), or Scott Stapp (Jenny). When the crooning pooch pulled off that snout, we found out he was Robin’s pick, Bronson Arroyo, a former professional baseball pitcher who won a World Series championship with the Boston Red Sox in 2004.
Strawberry Shortcake was the lone survivor of Group C. She sang “I Hope You Dance” by Lee Ann Womack and then took down Sherlock Hound in the Battle Royale with her rendition of “Shivers” by Ed Sheeran. The panelists believe she is Kelsea Ballerini (Robin), Hailee Steinfeld (Rita), or Selena Gomez (Ken). We think the sweet treat is someone else. Check out our spoilers page for more of Strawberry Shortcake’s clues and our guess!
Next week, Strawberry Shortcake will clash with Buffalo, Goo, and Wasp in the Season 12 Quarterfinals!
