Cairo man receives 9 year sentence for having child sex abuse images
CAIRO, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The U.S. Attorney's Office reported that Drew Caswell, 26, of Cairo, was sentenced to nine years in prison on Friday for possessing child sex abuse images. Caswell pleaded guilty back in May.
As part of his plea, Caswell admitted to using a file-hosting service in August of 2023 to download hundreds of pictures and videos depicting the sexual exploitation of infants and toddlers. He also confessed to eventually sharing the images on a social media website.
In addition to his prison time, Caswell was ordered to serve a 20-year term of post-release probation. He'll also be required to register as a sex offender following his release. The investigation was conducted by New York State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
