New innovation center to open in Malta
MALTA, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Innovation Center at Saratoga, a nonprofit space for supporting inventors and innovators, will open a physical location in Malta after searching for one for years. The tentative opening date is scheduled for mid-March.
It will be a community-oriented space for learning how to 3D print, laser cut, woodwork, photograph, weave, and more. An anonymous donor has also given the center a $500,000 challenge grant where the donor will match every dollar the center receives from other grants up to $500,000.
The 10,000-square-foot building is on Old Stonebreak Road with easy access to Route 9 and the Northway. It is south of Exit 12.
"This is an exciting and very busy time for the Innovation Center,” said Beth Moeller, board president for the Innovation Center. “Our team has been working hard to find a location within our budget that allows us to serve the entrepreneurs and artists of Saratoga County and beyond. We are looking forward to showing off our new facility to the community this spring.”
