Men’s Tennis Concludes Run at ITA Central Region Championships
TULSA, Okla. – The Arkansas men’s tennis team concluded its run at the ITA Central Region Championships on Saturday as Božo Barun and Connor Smillie dropped their quarterfinal match in the doubles draw while Barun fell in the quarterfinals of the singles consolation draw.
Barun and Smillie’s run came to an end after winning their first two matches in Tulsa. The tandem went up against 11th-seeded Lacides/Nhavene (Oklahoma) and dropped the match, 2-8. Barun entered the day in the Round of 16 of the singles consolation draw as he defeated Torres Espinosa (Nebraska), 4-6, 6-1, 6-3. In his quarterfinal match, Barun fell to Bracks (Oklahoma State) in straight sets to finish 2-2 in singles play in Tulsa.
The Razorbacks are back in action next week as they host the PTT 25K Fayetteville at Billingsley Tennis Center from Oct. 27-Nov. 2.
