Henry McClure talks run for Shawnee County District 2 seat with 27 News
TOPEKA (KSNT) - Shawnee County District 2 Republican candidate Henry McClure sat down with 27 News Monday morning to talk about his political run for office.
McClure is currently set to face off against Democrat candidate Kevin Cook this November for the District 2 seat in the General Election. 27 News Morning Anchor Matthew Johnstone started the interview by asking McClure why he thinks he is the best fit for the job.
"Well, I think its my life experiences, being a real estate developer and traveling across the country working for a shopping mall developer," McClure said. "My life is dealing with the government. My life is trying to do economic development."
McClure said he intends to retire his real estate license to eliminate any conflicts of interest while serving in the District 2 seat. He also wants to make sure the Shawnee County Sheriff's Office "has the tools to keep us safe."
