Clean and small early
Hello Friends,
At 0830 it seemed that the showers might be abating. Skies were solidly overcast still, so there could more sprinkles later. Wind was coming from the WSW at 10-16 kts and out at sea the 0700 MHL data was showing 2.2 metres of 10 second energy from the ENE. Waves looked to be in the chest to shoulder high range on sets at the Dee Why end, but it didn’t look too consistent. Tide was coming off the modest 1.38 m high at 0650. Water should be clean and around 18. Surface conditions as you can see were reasonably clean. Unfortunately the Bureau tells us that the wind will track around through the south west and then settle into a 15-25 kt southerly. As the wind comes around to the south, the easterly component will fade back to a metre or so and the southerly energy will bump up a bit. So, a bit of this and a bit of that.
Tuesday morning could be fun at south magnets for the early when there should be a south and east combo swell with SW wind… with any luck, the morning sessions will be modestly attractive through the week. The long range models are showing a little bump up into the 2 metre range at south magnets overnight Friday and into Saturday morning.
Have a top old Monday everyone!
Weather Situation
The low off the Queensland coast continues to move further offshore, making way for a trough and a fresh to strong southerly surge will rapidly sweep up the length of the east coast today. Winds about the coast will remain south to southeasterly through the week as a high-pressure ridge becomes the dominant weather feature across coastal waters from Tuesday.
