Gymnast Livvy Dunne Shows Support for Boyfriend Paul Skenes in Custom Pittsburgh Pirates Cowboy Boots at Pirates and Yankees Game in New York
Gymnast Livvy Dunne snapped a photo ahead of a game between the New York Yankees and the Pittsburgh Pirates at Yankee Stadium yesterday in New York.
Sat in the stands, the sports star showed her allegiance to Pittsburgh in a pair of custom Pirates cowboy booties. Made by creative Jessica Martini, the pair combines the love of sports with Western fashions, bridging the gap between the worlds seamlessly.
Dunne’s pick featured the baseball team’s logo sprawled across the white leather uppers in shades of black and contrasting yellow. The back featured the number 30 and the name Skenes in the same Pirates font. The boots referenced the team’s pitcher Paul Skenes, Dunne’s current boyfriend. The playful nod to her significant other garnered significant buzz online.
Orange and black tiger-striped mini bows were fixed just above the heels, although this detail was seemingly omitted in the final model worn to the game. The silhouette also included pointed toes and 2 to 3-inch block heels, standard detailing for a cowboy boot. Dunne shouted out Martini’s creation on her Instagram story ahead of the baseball game, captioning the post “the Skenes support group.”
Martini is currently a Georgia Tech engineer but spends her days crafting original footwear, utilizing the classic cowboy boot in white as her canvas. So far, the designer has created styles centered around a myriad of popular baseball teams like the Philadelphia Phillies, Colorado Rockies, Texas Rangers and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Dunne paired her custom footwear with black dark wash denim shorts and a matching black cropped sweater with a crisscrossing neckline and long sleeves. As for accessories, the gymnast donned black sunglasses, a slouchy black leather shoulder bag and gold jewelry. Simple and certainly fall-ready, the look screamed chic, marrying the upcoming fall season with a hint of summer.
