Acura boxed in on Burnside Bridge, 2 arrested
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A black Acura sedan was boxed in by Portland police on the Burnside Bridge after a gun was pointed at multiple people late Saturday afternoon, leading to the arrest of two men.
The incident unfolded around 5:20 p.m. when police were called about someone pointing a handgun at people around SW 6th and West Burnside, then headed off in the Acura, authorities said in a release. A sergeant spotted the car, coordinated the on-bridge box maneuver and detained both people in the car.
A gun was found on the seat inside the car, which was later identified as a "realistic looking BB gun."
No one was hurt.
Anthony G. Ortiz, 20, was booked for menacing, interfering with public transportation, interfering with a peace officer, 3rd-degree escape, 2nd-degree disorderly conduct and possession of fentanyl. Ortiz also had multiple previous warrants, officials said.
Jesse Frizzell, 28, faces charges of attempting to elude police and possession of fentanyl.
