Pamela Anderson looked pretty in pink as she stepped out on Friday night, debuting not only a polished blush gown but a new hair color to match. The actor swapped out her signature platinum blonde locks for a streak of fuchsia, offering an unexpected pop of color at the 72nd San Sebastián International Film Festival, where her film The Last Showgirl made its premiere.
Anderson, who plays the movie’s lead, leaned into her vivid hair hue with a pink, long-sleeved gown. Though the oversized dress offered very little shape, small details created big statements. The largest impression was left by the gown’s dramatic, floor-length sleeves, which included slits that ran along the actor’s body. As she moved on the red carpet, the sleeves flowed behind her like a train. Up top, a subtle, skinny V-neck was accentuated by an intricate crystal clasp, allowing a sliver of skin to peek out from the modest garment.
And while the Baywatch alum has been on a no-makeup streak since last year, she complemented her outfit with a daring beauty look. Anderson wore her trademark pencil-thin brows, a touch of mascara, and most surprisingly, a hot pink lipstick. Her freshly-dyed hair was swept up in a side-parted updo, allowing a streak of magenta to pop out from her icy blonde locks.
“There’s so many parallels to just being a woman and how society confines you and how you navigate being a mother and having a career. And I’ve always wanted to tell a mother daughter story,” Anderson said at a press conference on Friday for The Last Showgirl, per Variety. “I’d never really been offered a movie part like this, so I was really excited.” In the Vegas-set drama, Anderson plays Shelley, a veteran showgirl who faces an uncertain future after she’s told that her show will be closing permanently after a 30-year run.
