Andre, 22, has emerged as one of South America’s top players after clocking up 160 games for Fluminense in just three years.
The versatile anchorman already has two caps for Brazil after making last year’s preliminary World Cup squad.
And Andre’s latest triumph came earlier this month when he inspired Fluminense to Copa Libertadores glory against Argentine giants Boca Juniors.
But his dazzling performances have not gone unnoticed in Europe.
Liverpool are known to be big fans as Jurgen Klopp continues his search for a No6.
Arsenal have also scouted Andre in recent weeks, sending reps to watch him in last week’s final against Boca.
However, reports from Brazil claim Manchester United are leading the race to sign him.
Casemiro has endured an under-par campaign and is currently out injured until next year.
Saudi Arabian clubs are thought to be lining up bids for the 31-year-old.
And Andre has now lifted the lid on his chances of replacing Casemiro at Old Trafford.
The celebrated midfielder admits he is flattered by links with United.
But Andre has also revealed that he idolises the very man he could end up replacing at the Theatre of Dreams.
The ace told ESPN Brasil: “I didn’t know about (United’s interest). And I also don’t think anything came of it.
“We’re in November, there’s the final stretch of the Brazilian Championship, there’s the World Cup, but I’m very happy.
“Casemiro is a guy who has a huge career, I try to talk to him a lot when I’m with the national team.
“He’s a person who gives me a lot of advice, he’s a great leader and all I can do is continue playing well and I’m happy with all these surveys and comments.”
