Secret Service agents protecting Biden’s granddaughter fire at three attempting to break into car

Three people were shot at by US Secret Service agents outside the home of President Joe Biden’s granddaughter in Washington.
The shooting took place late on Sunday night in the capital’s Georgetown neighborhood. The agents were assigned to protect Naomi Biden, the president’s granddaughter.
The agents were returning home with Biden when they witnessed three individuals attempt to break into an unoccupied SUV parked outside.
The vehicle was owned by the US government, Secret Service Chief of Communications Anthony Guglielmi said.
One agent opened fire with their service weapon on the would-be carjackers, who fled in a red car. The Secret Service believes none of the attempted thieves were injured by the gunfire.
‘There was no threat to any protectees and the incident is being investigated by the DC Metropolitan Police Department and the Secret Service,’ Guglielmi said.
