Report: How much Tottenham would have to pay for Lloyd Kelly in January
Football Insider have claimed that it would take an offer of £25m-£30m to convince Bournemouth to part ways with Tottenham target Lloyd Kelly in January.
It has been widely reported over the past few weeks that Kelly remains at the top of Tottenham’s centre-back wishlist ahead of January after the North London club’s failed move for the Cherries star in the summer (GiveMeSport).
However, two weeks ago, Fabrizio Romano revealed that AC Milan and Juventus also have their eye on the 25-year-old while TEAMtalk reported last week that Liverpool and Newcastle United could also challenge the Lilywhites for the centre-back’s signature.
Lloyd Kelly will not come cheap for Tottenham
Even though Kelly’s current contract at the Vitality Stadium runs out next summer, Football Insider have now claimed that the centre-back would cost £25m-£30m in January.
The report says that while Andoni Iraola’s men want to hold on to the player, such a figure would be ‘too good’ for them to turn down.
Finally, the publication asserts that it looks set to be a ‘head-to-head’ battle between Liverpool and Tottenham for Kelly’s signature in January.
Spurs Web Opinion
It remains to be seen if any club would pay £25m-£30m for Kelly in January rather than signing him on a free transfer next summer. The only reason they might be tempted to do so is due to the increased competition they will face in the summer.
