A toddler was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after being attacked by a dog.
The boy was in his back garden in the city of Ballarat in Victoria, Australia when the dog bit him at 4.40pm local time (7.40am UK time) today.
An air ambulance landed in a nearby playground, before airlifting the child to the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, the Mail Online reports.
He is said to be in a stable condition with serious lower body injuries.
The local council, who are investigating the mauling, seized two dogs. It’s not known what breed they are.
The dogs are thought to be owned by a neighbour of the boy.
An 11-year-old girl was attacked when she ran past the dog while it was being walked by its owner in Bordesley Green on Saturday.
Two men tried to intervene but they were also bitten and left with arm and shoulder injuries.
All three victims were taken to hospital for treatment.
Suella Braverman has since pushed for a ban on American XL bully dogs, arguing they are a ‘clear and lethal danger’, particularly to children.
