Intruder climbs into mum’s bed for nap and then thanks her on social media
A stranger somehow got into a mum’s house, took a nap in her bed and then sent her a creepy message on social media.
Caitlin Sullivan, 22, was at her friend’s house when the security camera in her bedroom started buzzing at 7:45am on August 31.
She watched in horror as a man climbed into the bed she shares with her baby boy in Sauchie, Scotland.
The mum said: ‘I couldn’t believe my eyes. I was so shocked – I didn’t know who he was.
‘I couldn’t believe there was a man in my bed. I don’t understand how he got into my house.
‘It’s the fact that both me and my little boy sleep in that bed. If I was there he would probably have climbed into my bed and slept next to me.
‘I haven’t been staying in the house since. I never want to go back to that house.’
Police officers went with Caitlin to confront the man, who eventually left the house – but not before bleeding all over it.
The next day, the intruder sent a bizarre message to Caitlin on Facebook thanking her for the kip spot.
He said: ‘To give you my sincere apologies, I don’t keep well.
‘Thank you for letting me put my head down for three hours, hope no harm was done.’
The message ended with an eerie: ‘Hope to meet you one day’.
Caitlin, who has been left too terrified to return to her house, said the police did not arrest the intruder.
She also claims they simply told her to block him when she reported the message.
Police Scotland said: ‘Officers attended and after being able to gain entry to the property spoke to the person within.
‘No criminality was established and the complainer was spoken to. Police have received no further complaints or reports in relation to this incident.’
Caitlin said: ‘Who is to say he won’t come back? He has not been punished for it so he might do it again.
‘I am scared to stay in my house now because of my little boy. My neighbours said the man was trying to get into my house the night before around 10pm – he was seen screaming and shouting.’
