I took my newborn to Glastonbury, trolls tell me I’m cruel but why should I miss out, they get to go for free anyway
FESTIVALS are one of the best parts of the summer months, but it can be a little difficult to go when you have a baby to look after.
But in a bid to make sure everyone can enjoy the music, one mum has shared her top tips on how to go with your bundle of joy in tow.
The first step is to find the right place to stay[/caption] She advised parents to bring a carrier cot[/caption]Taking to her social media channel, the woman shared a photo of an outdoor stage as she shared: “Wanna go and have a mad time at Glastonbury, but you have one of these?” while pointing towards her own baby, who wore a “My First Glastonbury” T-shirt.
She then assured viewers that she had “everything you need to know” in order to have the best and safest time.
The first thing to consider before the big day is to look at a map of the festival to find the right place to camp out.
“Glastonbury is literally like a small village and you’re going to want to know where you’re camping before you arrive,” she explained.
Over this, she wrote: “This will determine which car park you use…” with a display of the map behind her.
She then explained that there are two family fields to choose from, with the first one being the Wicket ground, near gate A.
TikTok user @thetravelmum said this one is “ideal for tiny babies” as it’s quieter with less action around.
There’s also security at the gate, which means only families can get in.
The second area is Cockmill, which is near gate B. She said: “This one is a lot more popular. It’s really close to the kid;s field.”
“We would stay here with a toddler,” she wrote over this, before adding that it’s closer to the stages and has a fence and security, too.
She went on: “We always arrive on a Tuesday night and stay in the car so we’re first in the queue on the Wednesday.
“So as soon as the gate is open, we’re pretty much in there within the hour.”
The doting mum went on to advise people to bring the carrier cot so the baby can “sleep in there and do his own thing”.
Explaining that they preferred staying in Wicket ground, they showed off how empty the field is, where there was “no competition” for space.
And best of all, children under the age of 12 don’t require a ticket to go in.
Trolls were first on the scene, with one person saying: “if you can’t commit to giving up going to a festival for a couple of years why have a child? poor baby”.
While another said: “cant you leave the baby at home? I don’t know much about kids”.
But she was quick to hit back as she wrote: “Apparently you can if you’ve got a dog to watch it – always learning on tiktok”.
Others, meanwhile, praised her for taking the leap and bringing her child as one person shared: “I LOVE this. life doesn’t stop because you’ve had a baby. I love that you’ve took your baby with you its such an awesome thing to do”.
Another said: “omg you’re not just any mom , you’re a cool mum goals !!” followed by a red heart emoji.
While a third added: “just because you have children doesn’t mean you have to stop living. I will be teaching my son this by still living my life and bringing him to”.
