Shoppers are scrambling to get their hands on Tesco’s trendy bikinis that are scanning at just 8p at the till
THE weather is heating up and if you plan on sunbathing in your garden, or are lucky enough to have a holiday booked this summer, you’ll want to listen up.
Particularly if your bikinis are looking a bit old and tatty and you’re thinking about getting a new one, you’ll be stunned to know that there’s a stunning navy bikini, that’s scanning at the till for just 8p in Tesco.
One savvy shopper was left thrilled when she spotted the cut-price buy in her local Tesco.
The anonymous bargain hunter proudly took to Facebook yesterday to show off her epic new purchase, leaving many open-mouthed.
Posting in the Facebook group, Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, which has 2.2million members, the thrilled shopper shared a picture of her cheap find – the beautiful navy bikini.
The woman said: “Never get a bargain like this.
“Even the two cashiers looked at each other when they scanned for 4p each.
“Holiday bikini sorted for 8p.”
The woman shared a picture of her Tesco receipt, to prove the bikini really was just 8p.
The ribbed square neck top was originally £12, but as the receipt showed, had been reduced down to only 4p.
At the same time, the high-waisted ribbed bikini bottoms were originally priced at £8, but had also been massively discounted and were also only 4p.
The anonymous shopper explained that when she originally saw the bikini, it had been marked as reduced.
She explained that it “was still a bargain” with the bottoms reduced to £1.50 and the top reduced to £4.50, as she explained: “Hence why I was getting them to begin with.”
But the woman was left beaming when at the till she was told that the bikini was now just 8p.
What should have been £20 for the summer staple, it’s no surprise that the savvy shopper was thrilled with her bargain buy, as she saved herself a whopping £19.92.
The post was shared just nine hours ago, but has clearly impressed many, as it has quickly amassed 460 likes and 17 comments.
Social media users were stunned at the cheap find and were eager to express this in the comments.
One person said: “Fab bargain.”
Another added: “Fantastic bargain, well done.”
A third commented: “Wow fab.”
Meanwhile, one shopper claimed: “I bought this full price last summer. Looks fab on. Great bargain.”
Whilst one shopper tagged a family member and asked: “Tesco trip on pay day?”
At the same time, someone else posted: “4p stock shouldn’t be sold whoops.”
To this, the anonymous shopper explained: “There were two staff at the checkout. One of them honoured it. I have a feeling they probably emptied the rail after this.”
