I bagged my lunch & snacks for the whole week for just £2.50 – they came pre-prepared too, but not everyone’s convinced
A SAVVY shopper shared how she managed to bag a week’s worth of lunches and snacks for just £2.50 – and you can get in on the deal, too.
Social media user Becca visited her local Subway store and picked up five of their famous foot long rolls, plus cookies, that she said would feed her for the working week.
But while she was impressed with her food haul from the popular fast food sandwich chain, not everyone was so convinced.
In a video posted to her TikTok account @bellzyboo4, Becca explained that all you have to do is input an order for a mystery bag from popular App Too Good To Go and wait to see what goodies you receive.
The company, which is dedicated to reducing food waste in the UK, asks users to select a Magic Bag filled with an array of products close to their sell-by date, which, in Subway’s case, is their variety of sandwiches.
Subway is just one of the food stores featured on the app, but it also includes the likes of Greggs, Burger King, plus a number of supermarkets.
Becca then unpacked the brown paper bag for her 22.9k followers, as she showed them what was inside.
She said: “Have you ever wondered what’s in a Subway Too Good To Go Bag? Well, you’re in luck, I’ve got one, so let’s show you.
“In this one today, I have five sub rolls and I also have three cookies.”
As she got the tasty treats out of their packaging, Becca explained how the app deal worked.
She said: “So it depends on the day whether you get to pick or whether you get given whatever’s left.
“Today I got given whatever was left because I was running a touch late.”
But Becca was pleasantly surprised when she unpackaged two plain sub rolls and three of their delicious herb and cheese topped rolls.
She continued: “For £2.50, I don’t think that’s bad. That’s our lunch ready for the week.
She then quipped: “Now I’m off to have a posh bacon sandwich.”
But some were left confused by the contents of the bag, as they assumed the rolls would come with fillings that could be enjoyed at home.
One person asked: “So there is nothing in the rolls?”
To which Becca replied: “No, it’s a bread and cookies bag.”
Others also shared their disappointment at this discovery, as another added: “Doesn’t seem like a good deal.”
Another said they’d prefer to buy their own sub rolls in Aldi for a cheaper price and make their own lunch.
