Goebbels-quoting Indiana Republican drunkenly crashed car and fled the scene: police
A controversial Republican Indiana State Representative on Wednesday morning was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and fleeing the scene of an accident.
Local news station WTHR reports that Indiana State Rep. Jim Lucas, who in the past has come under fire for racist social media posts and posts that quote infamous Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels, allegedly crashed his car while intoxicated on Interstate 65, and then drove the vehicle to another location where it was subsequently found by law enforcement officials.
According to WTHR, Lucas is facing preliminary charges of "causing endangerment; leaving the scene of a crash; and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated."
Lucas last year was heavily criticized for making a famous Goebbels quote about "The Big Lie" his cover photo on Facebook -- and when confronted about this, he said he was using the quote to criticize supposed "lies" told by medical professionals about the COVID-19 vaccine.

He also got himself into trouble back in 2020 for posting a meme depicting Black children dancing happily along with the caption, "We gon' get free money!"
Lucas at the time said that his meme wasn't meant to be racist and that he could have chosen a photo of dancing white children as well.
