I came across an entire home being chucked out into the street – it was a goldmine, there were even vintage glasses
A THRIFTY woman has revealed how she managed to bag some amazing items after she spotted the contents of someone’s home on the side of the road.
Nichole was walking down the street in her hometown when she came across a pile of furniture and homeware pieces seemingly for the taking.
So Nichole, who lives in New York City, decided to look through the boxes and see what she could find.
And she said there was so much hidden treasure amongst the trash.
Nichole shared the story on her TikTok account @nycnichole, as she captured footage of the roadside.
She explained: “I was in absolute shock when I saw the entire contents of someone’s apartment being thrown out on the street today.
“A crew was emptying out everything from a three-bedroom apartment – apparently the old tenants passed away and their apartment sat untouched for three years.”
After admitting that “it was kind of sad to see the entire people’s lives just tossed on the curb”, she said she knew she’d be able to give it a new home as there was “so much usable stuff”.
She continued: “I did the best I could to dig through and save things – there were endless amounts of bags and boxes and furniture to go through.
“It was like a little treasure hunt. We searched for two hours.”
Nichole then unveiled the items she couldn’t part ways with and that would have ended up at the dump had she not rummaged through.
And there were some amazing items – from vintage glasses to stylish mirrors.
First up, Nichole showed how she’d taken home two glasses with a quirky tabasco sauce design, a silver and a gold photo frame, and a vintage tray.
Other things that caught her eye included two clear plastic tables, pretty floral vases, candle sticks and trinkets.
The home haul also boasted a glass bowl, a huge cocktail glass, two champagne glasses and a pretty glass decanter.
And it was completed by a small table, a vintage wooden mirror, a painting and a wooden plant stand.
After showing what she had found, Nichole said she couldn’t believe her luck – and her followers felt the same.
One wrote: “Wow! This is amazing stuff… this person’s taste was amazing.”
As another person typed: “Love everything.”
