Super saver praised after sharing genius way to make a meal for just 35 PENCE if you’re strapped for cash before payday
A SUPER saver has shared the genius way he makes a meal for just 35p if he’s strapped for cash before payday.
He took to TikTok to post a video explaining the “recipe”, which used ingredients from Lidl.
After picking up a pack of spaghetti for just 23p, he also grabbed a jar of tomato and herb sauce for 47p.
Once home, he cooked up the spaghetti before stirring in the sauce.
He added a sprinkle of salt and then dished the meal up into two dishes.
“Day before payday meal for two £0.70,” he wrote over the video on the Cost of Living Crisis Tips TikTok page.
“35p a dish.”
In the comments, he added: “It’s true it’s obviously the bare minimum but it would fill you up if you had next to nothing.”
Other people took to the comments section to praise him for the idea, with one writing: “Wow, doesn’t look like a 35p meal!”
“Yep I buy the same and you can get a garlic bread for 32p – it’s what’s needed in these hard times, good vid mate,” another added.
“Nothing wrong with that, if you’re hungry it does the trick,” someone else added.
As another wrote: “Honestly this is one of my kids’ favourite lazy dinners and I enjoy it as well. Who cares how much it costs? It’s a meal and it’s filling.”
But not everyone was impressed with the meal idea.
“I’d rather go hungry,” one commented.
“Bet that’s delicious… not,” another said.
While a third wrote: “Sauce looks nasty.”
“Don’t, just don’t,” someone else added. “The sauce is just red water.”
