After the Buzzer – Vipers Drop Game 1, 4-3
West Kelowna, BC: Lee Parks and Hank Cleaves each registered a pair of points, but it was an early 3rd period goal from Chris Duclair that was the difference as the Vipers fell 4-3 in Game 1 of the best of seven series in West Kelowna.
Parks first goal of the playoffs was a big one in the first period to erase a 1-0 deficit. His assist came early in the second period as he set up Griffen Barr for a powerplay tally.
Cleaves had the primary assist on Parks goal before sniping his own in the 3rd period. His goal cut the deficit to 4-3.
Anthony Cliche, Julian Facchinelli and Luke Pakulak all had one assist nights.
Roan Clarke made 19 saves in the loss.
The Vipers powerplay was 1 for 4, while their PK surrendered 1 goal on 3 West K powerplay chances.
Brennan Nelson was a bright spot for West Kelowna. The 19 year old Penticton product had a goal and two assists including setting up the game winner for Chris Duclair.
Duclair finished the night with 1 goal and 1 assist. Isaiah Norlin also finished with a multi point game.
Cayden Hamming was solid in goal stopping 25 shots.
Game 2 of the best of seven series goes Saturday night at Royal LePage Place.
