I love being house proud – here are three great everyday home hacks, including how to remove a broken light bulb
WE all love a home hack – and a woman has shared her top three which could make your life a lot easier.
TikTok user Sarah Teresinksi, who posts under @redeuxstyle, uploaded a video which began by showing how to remove glass shards from a broken lightbulb.
She explained how she adds sticky tape facing up on a screwdriver so she can remove the glass pieces without cutting herself.
Sarah said: “I was so frustrated because I was putting up my outside lights and one of them hit the side of the fence and just popped there.
“To remove a broken bulb from a socket you want to take a screwdriver on the non-metal side and wrap it with duct-tape or electrical tape with the sticky side facing up.
“You can take another piece of duct-tape facing down to secure the sticky side out.
“Then you need to make sure you unplug whatever it is you want to remove your bulb from, this is very important.
“Then you want to tape your screwdriver with the tape sticky side up, insert it into the socket screw and you will be able to pull out your lightbulb.”
And this wasn’t her only tip.
Sarah also gave a hack for preventing yourself from hitting your fingers when using a hammer.
All you need is a pair of chopsticks.
She explained: “All you need to do is slide your nail into a pair of chopsticks that have not been broken apart, put them on the wall and use that as your placeholder for your nail.”
Lastly, Sarah showed a hack for saving time doing up your shoelaces.
The home pro showed how you can remove laces in shoes such as Converse and replace them with elastic.
She added: “Take a piece of elastic and lace your shoe with it, tie it on the ends up at the top to hold the elastic in place.
“Then you can easily slide your shoe on and off without having to tie it.”
Many people were impressed with her hacks, and her video has racked up over 1,000 likes.
One person responded in the comments saying: “The chop sticks hack is genius.”
A second wrote: “All three are sheer genius. Thanks.”
