On yesterday’s instalment of the popular BBC One show, hosts Sally Nugent and Ben Thompson paid a special tribute to Carol, 60.

But her sense of humour is what has endeared her to so many.
Carol regularly makes jokes with her fellow presenters and isn’t afraid to crack some at her own expense.
In a special tribute, Sally and Ben dubbed their beloved colleague a “hero”. After Carol’s weather report had ended, the presenters introduced the next segment on local heroes.
They mentioned it was going to be about people who cheer others up, it was here that they mentioned Carol.
Ben said: “Forewarned is forearmed, which Carol is very good at helping us to be.”
To which Sally agreed with: “I think it’s appropriate that we’re going to go to this next story straight after we’ve been speaking to Carol.”
Ben smiled while Sally continued: “Because she brightens all of our lives.” To which he responded with the accolade: “She’s our local hero.” And Sally agreed.
In keeping with the positive atmosphere and praise, Sally introduced a clip about bus driver Simon Deakin who speaks to his passengers and brightens up their mornings by displaying his rubber duck collection on his bus.
She said: “And this morning, we want to talk to you about who in your day-to-day life just manages to brighten up your daily routine.
“One bus driver in East Yorkshire is helping everybody with that.”
Locals called him their “dream driver” praising his funny demeanour.
Something he and Carol share!
