Beauty fanatic praised for a 1p hack to make nail varnish dry loads quicker & people joke it’s so good it’ll save lives
A BEAUTY enthusiast has gone viral after sharing an easy hack for making nail polish dry quicker – and it costs just a penny.
Those who’ve ditched the nail lady for an at-home manicure will know the frustration of having to wait hours for the varnish to dry.
The at-home manicure fan said she kept her fingers in the ice water for just a second[/caption]Luckily, one savvy make-up fan has come up with an easy trick to speed up the process – and the hack has gone down a treat on TikTok.
The woman, named Rakhstar (@_rakhstarbeauty), took to the popular social media platform to share the secret to her 172k followers.
According to the beauty fanatic, the answer is simple and cheap – ice water.
”Dip your nails in ice water after painting them and they will dry instantly,” she claimed in the video.
”I let them sit for a second just out of paranoia.
”But the ice water is what hardens and dries it quickly.”
Another tip, she added, was painting thin layers – this will make the mani dry quicker.
”It’s seriously a life saver,” Rahkstar noted.
Posted just a few days ago, the video has already taken the internet by storm, racking up close to a whopping 860k views.
Amazed by how effective the trick appeared to be, hundreds of fellow make-up fans flocked to comments to thank the woman.

”My mom’s been making me do this since I was a little girl,” one chuckled.
”You may have just saved my life here,” another reckoned.
”I’ve done this. Even waited 6hrd after painting my nails, but I still wake up with bed sheets textures on them. What am I doing wrong?” someone else was baffled.
Another said: ”Warning that it just dries the top layer so if you’re too rough with them, they can still get wrinkly for a good 10 hours or so!”
Whilst on the topic of nail polish, did you know there’s a way to make the old varnishes like new?
Clare Hoops, 48, from the UK, took to TikTok to reveal the hack – not only is it almost free but also super easy, so if you’re about to treat yourself to a DIY mani, best keep reading.
The trick, it turns out, is using something that’s already sitting in your bathroom – nail polish remover.
”If you’ve got a nail varnish that is a little bit gloopy, just a little bit sticky, you take a tiny but of nail varnish remover,” she instructed her 64k fans in the video.
To make your polish easier to apply, simply pour a little bit of the remover into the glass bottle and give it a good shake.
”It won’t be quite the same as when you bought it but it will definitely make it a little bit easier to manage.
”It means you won’t waste it – it won’t be that thick, gloopy.
”Use it a little bit longer,” the savvy whizz urged her followers to reduce waste where possible.
Fellow social media users flocked to comments, where some shared their top remedies.
One person insisted: ”Putting it in the fridge helps too!”
”Adding clear nail polish helps!” penned another beauty fan.
