Tosan Evbuomwan & Princeton upset Mizzou to head to Sweet 16
Tosan Evbuomwan and Princeton have done it again, dominating Missouri 78-63 to advance to the Sweet 16 for the first time in over half a century.
Evbuomwan finished with nine points, nine rebounds, five assists and one block to show his versatility, as Princeton shocked another power conference team to reach the NCAA Tournament regional semifinals for the first time in 56 years.
The point forward played exception defence, shutting down Missouri’s All-SEC star Kobe Brown, as he held him to just 12 points on 5-of-13 shooting, and most of that in garbage time.

“The world looks at us as two upsets,” the former Newcastle Eagles forward said. “But I feel like we’re supposed to be here. We have a lot of confidence in one another, what we’re doing. There’s definitely no letup with this group.
“It’s an unreal feeling to do this with my guys and the coaching staff,” he continued. “It’s been a few years in the making. We love to work with each other and push each other, and it’s showing. A really tough group of guys, and it’s all coming together at the right time.”

It is the first time Princeton has reached the round of 16 since 1967 when only 23 teams even made the tournament, as they become the second Ivy League school to make the Sweet 16 in the past 43 tournament, joining Cornell in 2010, just the fourth 15th seed ever to make the Sweet 16, and now have the largest ever win by a 15 seed at March Madness.
