Nicola Bulley’s friend describes ‘living nightmare’ as search enters 11th day
A close friend of missing Nicola Bulley has made a fresh plea for information as the desperate search goes on to find the mum and bring her home to her two daughters.
Jill Peck described the toll her disappearance has had on her family and friends as a ‘living nightmare’.
She told Lorraine Kelly this morning of the struggle her friend’s children are going through as they await answers on the 11th day of the search.
‘They need their mum. We are on day 11 now, and every day, it is getting harder and harder for Paul and close family to keep things going,’ Jill said.
‘We want facts, we want dash cam footage. There is an area of a road that we do not have that for yet.
‘We really are appealing for the smallest amount of good, factual information. It could really help us.
‘So, please come forward with anything you have. We are trying to stay positive and we are a team.’
Nicola was last spotted walking next to the River Wyre in St Michael’s on Wyre on the morning of January 27.
Lancashire Police believe she accidentally fell into the river while out walking her dog, Willow, and have asked expert divers for help to search the water.
But family and friends have previously questioned this main hypothesis, insisting the 45-year-old was a ‘very good’ swimmer.
The underwater search is continuing following a fresh appeal by her partner, Paul Ansell, who said her two daughters ‘desperately’ miss her.
In a statement released yesterday through Lancashire Police, he stressed: ‘I have two little girls who miss their mummy desperately and who need her back.’
Ahead of the Specialist Group International beginning its second day of searching the River Wyre, the head of the team, Peter Faulding cast doubt on the working hypothesis that Nicola had fallen into the river.
He said: ‘I personally don’t think she’s in the river, that’s just my gut instinct at this point.’
