Seven explosive Coronation Street spoilers: dark past exposed, shooting horror and new killer target

ONE Weatherfield resident could be left in massive danger as their partner is caught with someone from their past.

Deadly horror will also hit Coronation Street and it could mean the end of the line for one major villain. Get the lowdown.

They’re determined to know more about Laurence[/caption]

What will they find?[/caption]

1. Laurence’s past exposed

Laurence Reeves seemed like a perfect fit for Sean Tully upon their first introduction.

However, love and matters of the heart have never been Sean’s strongest suit.

Over the years, the Underworld machinist portrayed by Antony Cotton has found himself heartbroken, betrayed and discarded on multiple occasions.

This seemed to FINALLY come to an end when Robert Shaw Cameron made his Corrie debut as newbie Laurence Reeves.

However, since his first appearance in Weatherfield, the successful surgeon has been shrouded in mystery.

Following their kiss, which caused a massive fallout between him and Sean, Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) decided to investigate and is having none of Laurence’s seemingly underhanded ways.

In scenes due to air on ITV, the undertaker pulls up in a taxi while Sean and Laurence head up the street.

Todd is shocked when the driver recognises Laurence and he’s taken even more aback when him and his mother Eileen (Sue Cleaver) are warned that their friend should watch his back.

Frightened for Sean’s safety, Todd tells him about the cab driver – but will he listen?

Outside the Rovers, Sean decides to take matters into his own hands and grabs Todd’s phone.

After finding the taxi app, he confronts Laurence with a picture of Mitch, the taxi driver but the surgeon makes out that he’s never seen him before.

Eileen digs deeper at No.11 and stumbles upon a picture online of Laurence and his wife with her arm around Mitch.

Unfortunately, Sean doesn’t want to hear another word of her and Todd’s theories about Laurence and tells them they’re completely wrong.

To prove it, Sean even adds that Laurence has booked them a romantic getaway.

Unconvinced and aware of Sean’s tendency to wear rose-tinted glasses when in a relationship, Todd and Eileen track down Mitch who reveals that he and Laurence once had an affair.

According to him, this occurred when Laurence’s wife Lindsey fell down a mountain – and Mitch admits he suspects she was pushed.

Eileen and Todd are shell-shocked and break the news to Sean.

While he firmly believes Laurence only has the best intentions for him, Sean soon feels uneasy when Laurence reveals that the surprise minibreak will involve mountains.

Alarm bells ring for Sean later on in the café as Laurence tells him there will be no phone signal in the village they’ll be staying in, which happens to be in the middle of nowhere.

Should Sean listen to Todd and Eileen’s warnings?

All hell breaks loose at the Bistro[/caption]

2. Shooting horror at the Bistro

Nick Tilsley is trying to find a way to get rid of Damon Hay.

The restaurateur played by Ben Price is aware Damon (Ciarán Griffiths) has been smuggling drugs out of the Bistro.

Tired of his schemes, he decided to tell his other half Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) the truth as his son Sam grew dangerously close with Damon.

However, Nick is unable to free himself or his loved ones from Damon’s grasp and matters go from bad to worse.

Coming up, Nick calls Damon and confirms that a recent drug delivery has been completed.

He then gets a reminder how dangerous a life of crime really is when two masked men enter the Bistro, pointing a gun at Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott).

Both demand that he hand over the drugs, leaving Ryan terrified, while a resourceful Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) dives under a table and calls his father Nick.

While Ryan and Sam face the gunmen, the businessman is outside alongside Damon and Leanne but the trio race towards the restaurant after hearing a gunshot.

Who survives the shooting horror?

Having been alerted to the gunshot, the police arrive at the Bistro… with a handler soon in tow.

A sniffer dog walks around the premises – is the game up?

3. Damon gets a love interest

Soap bosses promised Damon would not only cause trouble in the cobbles but would also be embarking on a shock romance with a well-established Corrie lady.

Her identity is revealed in upcoming scenes of the Manchester-based drama.

Next week, Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) calls at the Bistro looking for Damon.

Unfortunately for her, she won’t be seeing Damon for a while when Leanne Battersby tells her he’s banged up in Weatherfield Police Station for drug dealing.

Dee-Dee is shocked but could she use her skills as a solicitor to come to his aid?

Adam and Sarah struggle to get on the same page[/caption]

4. Sarah makes a shocking confession

After being harassed by his former flame Lydia Chambers, Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) has been looking forward to a quieter life in the cobbles.

His plans were slightly thwarted by Imran Habeeb’s baby custody drama and eventual death.

Speaking of babies, the solicitor finally feels ready to build a happy family alongside his wife, Sarah (Tina O’Brien).

This week, Adam tells her he’s planning on taking her out to dinner, letting her know there’s something he’d like to discuss with her.

But it’s clear Sarah has other things on her mind and baby matters are at the bottom of her priority list.

At No.3, she’s deeply focused on a new business venture with Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) as he shows her some more of his designs.

Michael even suggests they think big and bombard all the retailers on the list Sarah’s uncle Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) provided.

The trio are hoping to branch out and away from the Underworld factory, led by Carla Connor.

With Sarah’s business-savviness and Michael’s promising designs for a loungewear range, the new business could be everything they’d hoped for.

In Sarah’s ambitious mind, work thus has to come first.

This means her availabilities are limited and she admits to her other half that she needs to work late again in the hopes of winning a big contract.

A disappointed Adam tries to get the ball rolling and tells her that they need to make time to talk about having a baby.

But instead of agreeing, Sarah drops a bombshell on the solicitor, making her priorities crystal clear.

She tells him that now is not the right time to be thinking about having a baby.

In later scenes, Sarah, Michael and Stephen are at the factory, watching on as Beth Tinker works on the new samples.

And things are slowly looking up for their business.

How will Adam react to Sarah’s increasing workload?

Could it eventually lead them to a deadlock?

Notorious technophobe Roy has changed is ways[/caption]

5. Roy gets an intervention

Who would have ever thought that a notorious technophobe like Roy Cropper (David Neilson) could, one day, become addicted to his mobile phone?

Roy made the decision when his distaste and mistrust in technology almost cost Nina’s (Mollie Gallagher) life.

But in upcoming scenes, the teen backtracks and wishes he would give it a rest.

It all begins in Roy’s Rolls when he suggests to Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) that she might like to return to her job at the charity shop.

Roy continually checks his phone for updates on the roman fort excavation – prompting Carla Connor (Alison King) to open up to Nina about her concerns.

The Underworld factory boss admits she’s worried Roy has become obsessed with his smartphone.

Initially reluctant, Roy eventually grew fascinated with modern technology and is later found by Nina tapping away on his device.

Much like Carla, Nina comes to the realisation that Roy may be secretly addicted to his phone.

In an attempt to get the monkey off his back, she challenges Roy to put his phone away and work the rest of his shift at the café without looking at it once.

How will Roy react to her suggestion?

Could Stephen go for another victim?[/caption]

6. Stephen has another target

Could Carla Connor be Stephen Reid’s third victim?

The Underworld leading lady played by Alison King has no idea that her PA Sarah Barlow (Tina O’Brien) has embarked on a new business venture.

To make matters worse, she has joined forces with both Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) and Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce).

Coming up, the trio are joined by Beth Tinker (Lisa George) who spends all night working on samples for a new collection.

Sadly, her machine has jammed and she needs to figure out a way to keep Carla in the dark or she’ll know Beth has been moonlighting.

Stephen is just as preoccupied by the situation but manages to keep his cool when he shows businessman Rufus from Donahues around the factory.

Carla returns and, knowing he can’t have them bump into one another, Stephen steers Rufus away as swiftly as he can.

In later scenes, both men are at the Bistro with Sarah and Michael, and Rufus quizzes Stephen who makes out that Carla is his PA.

Rufus is under their spell and announces he’d like the exclusive rights to their products.

Sarah, Michael and Stephen raise a toast to their new and successful business… but their plans could be thwarted.

Following their meeting, Rufus leaves the Bistro and is given a lift by taxi driver Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne).

Both Peter and Rufus begin to chat and the latter explains he stopped by Weatherfield to do a deal with the Underworld factory.

Peter is taken aback by the news as he believes his wife Carla would have told him all about Rufus behind closed doors.

He thus reveals that he gave the entrepreneur a lift, telling Carla that he’s doing a deal with the factory.

Could this lead Carla to figure out what Stephen has been up to behind her back?

Bernie has a secret talent[/caption]

7. Bernie is given a huge opportunity

With Fern becoming a mere bad memory, Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove) has been enjoying a more peaceful routine in the cobbles.

In late 2022, she began to show what she’s capable of on a golf course and first expressed interest in the sport in the Roy’s Rolls Café.

However, this week, she’s furious to hear from her son-in-law Chesney Brown (Sam Aston) that Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) let her win at golf, taking pity on her.

Dev soon contradicts Chesney, admitting Bernie was terrific at the game and the team would be lucky to have her amongst them.

Upon their return from the golfing range, Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) is convinced Dev let her mother win again but he insists – Bernie really IS a natural.

Later on at No.5, Bernie tells how the Ladies’ Captain reckons they’ll waive the membership fee… and offer her a scholarship.

Bernie is over the moon but Dev can only try his best to appear pleased for her.

His daughter Asha (Tanisha Gorey) later calls him out by telling him that he should be proud of Bernie’s golfing skills rather than jealous.

Is there more to it?

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV.
