I’m a savvy mum and transformed my entire kitchen for under £50 – people can’t believe how good it looks
A SAVVY mum has taken to TikTok to reveal how she transformed her entire kitchen for less than £50 – and people can’t believe how expensive it now looks.
Chantelle, known online as @chantellesaundersx, regularly gives updates on her home renovation with her 2,200 followers.
In a new video, she shares how she gave her kitchen a brand-new look, upgrading the cupboards, tiles and windows on a budget.
“So I thought I’d upload another little DIY video. This one is of my kitchen.
“You can see how yellow that back door tile is, and how black that small window was. It was rotten in here.
She added: “There were smashed tiles, missing tiles, every kitchen cupboard stank.”
Chantelle then goes on to show how she changed up the room, starting with the walls and windows.
“I started by painting the kitchen a light grey colour. You can see the cutting in hadn’t been done but the painting had been started.
“Then I just ordered these cheap blinds. They were, I think, eight quid and ten quid, just to get something up in the kitchen because obviously, I didn’t have any blinds.”
In the comments, she confirmed these were from Wilko and Argos, and are just a temporary fix.
“Then I covered the back door with some white vinyl because obviously, it was yellow and just wasn’t working.
“These were the kitchen tiles which I could not stand, and then the grout was just so yellow, so I cleaned them over.
She added: “I thought let me try my luck and order two of these grout pens for £3.
“Of course, I do need to regrout them, but they really did do the job. I cannot complain about them at all.
“Then I just decided to order some tile stickers…these were amazing, but I ordered the wrong size.
“You can’t really notice but there’s a couple where I cut them too short, so I do need to change the tile stickers.”
She confirmed that she spent just £16 on 120 tile stickers on eBay.
She continued: “Then I got daring and was like, ‘shall I cover the worktop?’
“And to my surprise, I was actually very impressed with how the tile stickers come out, along with the worktop.
“So then I got a little more daring and thought, ‘shall I do the kitchen cupboards? Why not?’”
At the end of the reel, she shares some before and after photos, adding: “This is it currently, at the moment, which for under £50, I’m not going to complain.
“I’m extremely happy with [it]. I do want to change some of the vases to black, get a nice runner rug, and change the blinds, but yeah, I’m really happy.”
Fans loved the mum’s budget transformation, with the video gaining more than 7,300 likes and 147,000 views.
In the comments, Chantelle’s followers shared their reactions, with one writing: “Wow amazing such a difference.”
Another said: “Looks fantastic and for such a low price too.”
A third added: “I was not expecting it to look as good as it does. You did a fab job.”
