John Bolton for President? Please.

Let’s start this off by saying that yes, former president Donald Trump needs to be a lot more disciplined in the things he lets loose on social media. The one he popped out last weekend, a perhaps over-passionate response to the revelations about Twitter’s corrupt dealings with the Democrat National Committee and Team Biden to suppress the Hunter Biden laptop story, was a good example.

Upon learning of the proof supplied by Matt Taibbi in his Twitter Files series, Trump blasted out a rather shouty denunciation of his political tormenters, which, while understandably hot, wasn’t as erudite as it could have been:

In a Saturday morning post on Truth Social, the twice-impeached former president claimed that alleged “massive and widespread fraud and deception” by Democrats and big tech companies undermined the results.

He asked: “Do you throw the Presidential Election Results of 2020 OUT and declare the RIGHTFUL WINNER, or do you have a NEW ELECTION?”

Further, the one-term president and former reality TV host falsely claimed that the alleged fraud was of such magnitude that all laws, including the Constitution, could be cast aside.

“A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution. Our great ‘Founders’ did not want, and would not condone, False & Fraudulent Elections!” he wrote.

The old rule on Trump’s statements going back to 2016 is that he should be taken seriously but not literally. That rule applies here: Trump raised the point, perhaps covered too thickly by invective, that the Constitution doesn’t adequately provide a remedy for the kind of widespread abuse that it increasingly appears that the 2020 election was marred by.

Twitter and Facebook and other Big Tech platforms suppressing — at the hands of Deep State operators at the FBI and in the intelligence community, as well as other federal agencies — the truth about the Biden crime family had an effect on the outcome of that election. Multiple surveys have shown that 10 percent or more of Joe Biden’s voters would not have turned out for him if they’d known about that laptop computer and the criminal behavior contained within.

We already know that illegal ballot-harvesting and other shenanigans in key swing states played a substantial role in degrading the electoral process to the extent that, at minimum, it isn’t possible to definitively say who won those states in 2020. Now you have proof that material information which would have been dispositive to the outcome of the election was suppressed by a cabal of irresponsible hacks bent on keeping the public uninformed.

Trump’s outrage is wholly justified. His statement about “termination of all rules” and “even those found in the Constitution” isn’t. It was a bad statement, and he knew it. He clarified it later to say:

The Fake News is actually trying to convince the American People that I said I wanted to “terminate” the Constitution. This is simply more DISINFORMATION & LIES, just like RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA, and all of their other HOAXES & SCAMS.

What I said was that when there is “MASSIVE & WIDESPREAD FRAUD & DECEPTION,” as has been irrefutably proven in the 2020 Presidential Election, steps must be immediately taken to RIGHT THE WRONG. Only FOOLS would disagree with that and accept STOLEN ELECTIONS. MAGA!

That isn’t exactly a “sorry, I misspoke,” but it’s close enough. By the time the Sunday news shows came along, the state of things was that Trump was saying election integrity in America is no longer to a First World standard and that something has to be done about it, and the abuse detailed in the Twitter Files cannot stand.

That was the topic people of goodwill should have been debating. But of course it wasn’t, because there is neither goodwill nor honesty in America’s legacy corporate media — or the grifters who make their way through those media organs.

And, naturally, the fired former national security adviser to the president John Bolton, one of the architects of the disastrous Iraq War and other deadly neoconservative foibles who ran afoul of Trump because he demanded the opportunity to offer even more pointless and endless warfare to the world under The Donald’s banner, had to seize on the situation.

So you got this:

Former National Security Advisor John Bolton said Monday he may launch a 2024 White House run if other prospective GOP presidential candidates fail to denounce Donald Trump’s comment about terminating the Constitution.

“I’d like to see Shermanesque statements from all the potential candidates,” about the 76-year-old former president’s Saturday Truth Social post, Bolton said during an interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press Now.”

“If I don’t see that, I’m going to seriously consider getting in,” Bolton added.

The former Trump administration White House official said that the former president’s statement should be considered “disqualifying” for public office.

“I think to be a presidential candidate you can’t just say, ‘I support the Constitution.’ You have to say, ‘I would oppose people who would undercut it.’”

Bolton, who before his stint in the Trump White House served as the US Ambassador to the United Nations from 2005 to 2006, teased a 2024 announcement from him might come sooner than people think.

“It might be earlier than some would think,” Bolton said, without laying out a specific timeline for his decision.

He added he would run on a platform “true to free market principles” and said that he is “not a social conservative.”

This is laughable. It’s laughable.

There isn’t a seat in Congress John Bolton can win. It’s debatable whether there is a Republican primary for a seat in Congress John Bolton can win. He is positively despised by the majority of the GOP’s voting base as part of the revulsion to the failure of the Bush foreign policy that directly inflicted Barack Obama on America.

Trump is disqualified for getting too hot under the collar in a tweet about a presidential election arguably stolen from him, but Bolton isn’t disqualified for drumming up a war based on false intelligence about weapons of mass destruction? A war that he and his team proceeded to lose (or at least to set the stage for losing) because they had no viable plan for how to secure victory?

How many dead Americans, not to mention dead Iraqis and Afghans who were not combatants, are John Bolton’s government service responsible for?

This column eviscerated Arkansas’ mediocre governor Asa Hutchinson for hawking his own presidential run. It simply wouldn’t be fair not to do the same for the Swamp Walrus, a 74-year-old bureaucrat full of bad ideas and redolent — reeking, to be fully candid — of failure and decline not just of Republican politics but America in general.

John Bolton has never run for office before. There is a reason for that. At no point in the past three-quarters of a century since he entered the human race has there been a market for his talents in electoral politics. Nobody needs his mustache, nobody needs his passive-aggressive demeanor, nobody needs his servility to the needs of the D.C. Swamp, and nobody needs his “not a social conservative” Stupid Party born-loserism.

As said in yesterday’s column, we are rapidly approaching the point where the ballot-harvested votes of the dead and gone will elect political majorities who will make criminals of pastors and priests who refuse to officiate gay weddings. And John Bolton is talking about “free market principles”?

Where have you been, Mr. Walrus? Coo coo ca choo.

Does John Bolton have any comment on the rancid state of our election security in America, or is his value proposition that he’s a Republican the fixers would allow to win?

Does this “not a social conservative” have anything to say about rapacious hospitals and unscrupulous quack doctors forcing puberty blockers and surgical mutilations on otherwise healthy children going through a gender-confused phase?

Do his “free market principles” extend to continued Apple/Nike/NBA-style submissiveness to Communist China and its uber-profitable slave labor manufacturing gulags? Does he offer anything but fentanyl poisoning to those Americans put out of a job as his fellow Swamp creatures monetize the alienation of our supply chain?

What’s his elevator speech as a presidential candidate? That he’d take us back to the heady days of 2006-style Bush Republicanism?

No. Just no. Go away, Swamp Walrus. It was your brand of failure that brought Trump into political being in the first place. You are dismissed, with prejudice.
