WINGER LINKS HIMSELF TO ARSENAL
“I follow Arsenal closely, they’re a very dynamic side. One surprise for me was how many Arsenal fans followed me. No other club’s fans have interacted as much as them”.
“They always tell me: come to us!”.
Mykhaylo Mudryk, at a bar, dropping eyes, literally begging Edu to get the deal done.
Those comments come from an interview with Zinchenko’s wife. You’d have to imagine there’s something going on here, the flirting is a little uncomfortable, the player’s a little too keen for this just to be pure fantasy.
Some of the fees being spoken about feel a little OTT, but who knows, if he has a very specific profile clubs in Europe are heavy breathing over, maybe he can command big numbers. £65m is a little steep though, that’s the sort of cash United spend, and it doesn’t feel like the sort of move Arsenal get suckered by these days. The players have 4 years left on his deal though… so that’s probably a driving factor. But if he wants out, that’ll be helpful to negotiations.
What we do know is Arteta was flashing £35m cheques around in the summer and we really, really need coverage for Saka. Mykhaylo plays mostly on the left, but he’s a right footer, so no reason to think he couldn’t be deployed wherever we need him.
As suspected, Arsenal are going to Dubai for a midseason break, it’s close to Qatar, so players exiting can join back with the team easily. We’ll have games lined up against Liverpool, Milan, and Lyon. There will be penalty shootouts after each game regardless of the result. In MLS Next Pro, the development league over here, if a game is drawn, it goes to a shootout for an extra point, which is quite fun. Not sure why I opened that one up, I don’t have the energy to go hard at killing the 0-0.
Arsenal has been working behind the scenes with fans to create new artwork for the stadium. The venue has looked very run down for quite a while, sun-bleached everything isn’t a good look for a major club, so the execs at Arsenal have brought in fans to inspire the artwork and give them a bit of ownership over what goes up there. I’m VERY excited to see what they’ve chosen, I hope it’s creative and goes beyond real basics, but we’ll see.
RIGHT, short one today, see you in the comments!
