Italian agent explains one factor Conte’s Tottenham future will depend on
Italian football agent Massimo Brambati has explained that Antonio Conte does not care about the nature of the contract Spurs offer him but rather the type of project that the club’s hierarchy envisage.
Some reports over recent weeks have suggested that Tottenham have opened talks with Conte’s entourage over a new contract and that the North London club are ‘confident’ the Italian will commit his future to the club (The Athletic).

However, Italian publications have continued to insist that a return to Juventus next summer is on the cards for the 53-year-old.
The print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (28/10/22 as relayed by Sport Witness) stated last month that Conte is Juve’s number one target to replace Massimiliano Allegri at the end of the season.
Football Insider even reported a few weeks ago that Spurs are expected to offer a contract worth more than £20million-a-year to the 53-year-old, which would make him the highest-paid manager in the Premier League ahead of both Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp.
However, Brambati has now explained that Conte does not care about the salary and wants to know whether the club want to build a team that can win the Premier League title.
When asked about the Tottenham head coach’s future, the agent told TuttoMercatoWeb: “The focus is not the contract but the projects.
“So much so that Tottenham asked for an extension, but he wants to understand if he has to continue being in the top four doing miracles or have a team that can win the Premier League. His stay will depend a lot on this.”

I think it is abundantly clear that Conte is only motivated by the idea of winning titles. The Italian knows that he is in a relatively strong bargaining position and so, I expect him to make big demands of the Spurs hierarchy.
I do expect the two parties to reach some sort of compromise and for Conte to extend his contract at Spurs. The Italian is clearly invested in the work he has done at the club so far while the Tottenham board know that they have a world-class manager on their hands.
