[Women's Soccer] Women's Soccer Picks Up Three All-GPAC Honors
Doane Women's Soccer capped off one of their more successful seasons in the program's history this year with eight wins, tied for 10th-most all-time. With the success, the 2022 squad was able to place three players on the all-conference announced by the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) on Monday.
Michaela Thompson (SR/Spokane, Wash.), the team's leading scorer, was named Second Team All-GPAC as a forward. She posted eight goals and four assists this year, leading the team in both categories. Her goal total was the most for a Tiger since 2015.
McKenna Rathbun (FR/Lincoln, Neb.) and Jenna Tardiff (SR/Antelope, Calif.) were recognized on the honorable mention All-GPAC list. Rathbun was the top scoring midfielder for the Tigers this year, posting five goals and one assist. Tardiff was the top scoring defender for Doane, picking up three goals. Both players played and started all 19 games on the year.
Doane finished the year with an 8-9-2 record overall and a 5-6-1 record in GPAC play, qualifying for the conference postseason tournament.
