James Bond star Daniel Craig embroiled in fresh row with neighbours after bitter dispute
JAMES Bond star Daniel Craig looks set to become caught up in a new row with his neighbours in a battle over a 65ft tree at his mansion.
Craig and his wife, Oscar-winning actress Rachel Weisz, could have a fight on their hands with nearby residents over their plans to cutback a tree at their £6million townhouse in North London.
The famous couple won a battle five years ago to keep a 65ft London plane in their garden following complaints from locals who said its roots were causing damage to their properties.
Neighbours applied to chop down the tree, thinking it was causing subsidence to their homes.
The tree was saved though after Craig, 54, and Weisz, 52, offered to cut the tree back.
Camden Council planners also put the blame for cracks appearing next door on a sewer pipe.

Now, Craig and Weisz, who married in 2011, want to cut the tree back by another 13ft and have applied to the council to carry out the work.
They also want to trim another London plane and a pear tree covered in iyy, according to the Daily Mail.
The couple have to seek permission to carry out the changes as the trees are protected by a Tree Preservation Order in a designated conservation area.
Planning agent Stephanie Radziwillowicz said: “This previously reduced tree, overhanging several gardens, is in need of maintenance to slow root expansion and improve light.”

Camden Council is expected to make a decision later this month.
In 2017, bankers Alasdair and Elizabeth Nisbet said their Victorian terrace home had been left with a number of cracks because of the roots from Craig and Weisz’s home.
The Nisbets submitted reports from experts who said their subsidence was down to the roots.

However, at the time, other neighbours said the trees were “aesthetically beautiful” and that their removal would be “like losing a limb”.
The Sun Online has contacted a representative of Craig’s for comment.
