I’m a tattoo artist and there are loads of inkings I refuse to do including one I’ll never, ever let in my portfolio
WHILE laser removal has come on leaps and bounds in recent years, tattoos are still meant to be forever.
So one tattoo artist has revealed the inkings she’s been asked to do, but refused, for both the benefit of the customer and herself.
Tamia took to TikTok to share a video explaining the designs she’d drawn a line at, and “started off strong” with someone who asked her to “tattoo their a**ehole”.
“Self-explanatory,” she laughed.
“I’m sorry but I’m not your girl for that.”
Secondly, she had a request from a 16-year-old over email.

And despite the fact the teen said they had parental consent for the inking, they wanted a “gangster Monopoly man”.
“They wanted the Monopoly man with money falling down all around him, an AK47 in one hand and brass knuckles in the other hand,” she said.
“This is a 16-year-old child.
“I was like, ‘You’re going to regret that one day, so call me when you’re 18 with maybe another tattoo design?’”

In fact, the teenager returned when they were 18 for a “sentimental tattoo”, and thanked Tamia for not going ahead with their original idea.
“I feel like this goes without saying, I won’t tattoo anything gang-related, anything racist, homophobic, that’s a no-no for me,” she added.
And when she was asked to do a chest piece with “money” and “h**s” on it, she put her foot down.
“My books were closed at the time but that was also something I wasn’t looking to put in my portfolio,” she said.
“I referred them to an artist who does killer script, but I’ve never seen that design on their account so I don’t know if that actually happened.”

In the comments section, people were quick to weigh in on Tamia’s dealbreakers, with one writing: “I don’t do side fingers or inner lips anymore! more trouble than it’s worth.”
