Alex Scott breaks down in tears on This Morning as she admits struggle to speak about dark past
ALEX Scott broke down in tears on This Morning as she admitted her struggle to open up about her dark past.
The former Arsenal star has released her new memoir, How (Not) to Be Strong, which reveals for the first time about her tough upbringing.
Despite writing the book herself, Alex says speaking about her traumatic childhood with an “abusive, alcoholic father” in interviews has been the toughest part.
Until now she hasn’t even spoken out loud about what happened – even to her mum and brother.
She was pushed to tears by presenter Phillip Schofield on the This Morning sofa today who explained: “Life at home for you was quite tricky. You didn’t have an easy start.”
He then read out a paragraph from Alex’s book, which read: “When my dad was sober he was a charming guy, but the moment drink was involved that would change.
