I’m a midsize fashion guru… how to hide a bloated belly without shapewear – & why it’s all about the right colours
A MIDSIZE fashion expert has revealed how to hide a bloated tummy without having to rely on shapewear – and it’s easier than you think.
Although having a bloated belly is completely normal and nothing to be ashamed about, there’s no denying that sometimes it affects our confidence.
Suddenly finding ourselves hating the reflection in the mirror, we dash to our drawers and look for our trustworthy piece of shapewear.
But turns out, there’s no reason to squeeze into the tight garment, as one midsize fashion whizz has claimed you can hide your belly in another – less suffocating – way.
Nina Potemkin (@ninapotemkin), who regularly shares all things fashion on TikTok, explained why when it comes to bloating, it’s all about picking the right colours.
Posing in a pair of chic wide leg bottoms in light grey, Nina said that there was nothing wrong with these – but there is a way to make yourself look even better.

Instead, she demonstrated in a video, opt for a different style.
”These straight leg pants in dark blue colour are also great options to hide belly.”
The guru went on to explain: ”The combination of high waisted and dark colour pants help hiding the belly.”
The clip was captioned ”How to Instantly Hide Bloated Belly Without Shapewear” and has since been viewed more than 20k times.

Recently, another woman shared a hack for wearing tights when you’re experiencing bloat.

Whilst the garment might keep your legs warm and toasty, the waistband can often cause you discomfort, digging into your belly.
This is a problem that Lottie Drynan (@lottiedrynan) used to know all to well – until she came up with a simple two-minute trick, which she also decided to share on social media.
Lottie regularly takes it to her TikTok to post boat-friendly outfits and clothing tricks that are watched by thousands.
In one such clip, the blonde guru could be seen wearing a bright pink jumper and a pair of black tights.
”Tights digging in on the waistband and making you feel bloated and uncomfortable?
”Well, I have got a hack for you.”
The easy trick, according to Lottie, doesn’t call for too many supplies – all you need is a pair of scissors and some clear nail varnish.
First, she demonstrated, take the scissors and cut two to six small slits spaced out evenly around the thick waistband section.
Once done, use some clear nail varnish and paint across the slits.
This will prevent ladders from ruining your tights.
