Zelis Completes Payer Compass Deal That Expands Out-of-Network Healthcare Services
Healthcare payments and pricing company Zelis has completed its acquisition of Payer Compass, which provides reimbursement and claims pricing, administration and processing solutions for healthcare companies, a press release said.
This will let Zelis expand its solutions for out-of-network healthcare services for clients.
“We’re thrilled to complete the acquisition of Payer Compass and join our organizations,” said Amanda Eisel, CEO of Zelis. “Zelis is on a mission to create a better healthcare financial experience for all, and the powerful combination of our technology and teams advances us in achieving that aim.”
And Greg Everett, Payer Compass CEO, said the company was “excited to join Zelis and expand our reach and service to healthcare payers and their members.”
“This is an opportunity to increase price rationality in healthcare.”
PYMNTS wrote previously about the Zelis acquisition, which was “designed to streamline the claims management process,” a press release said.

Zelis and Payer Compass plan to leverage advanced tech and “best-of-breed approaches” to make pricing solutions that will work with rising healthcare costs for clients.
“Through our combined assets, we’ll have the people, technology and shared energy to generate more savings for our clients and continue to positively impact healthcare’s rising costs and complexity,” Eisel said at the time.
It also came after Zelis also acquired Sapphire Digital, a platform for provider selection, patient access, price transparency and digital consumer navigation for healthcare. That acquisition’s goal was to offer ways for customers to “harmonize the complete healthcare payment process by pricing, paying and explaining healthcare,” Eisel said at the time.
The Sapphire buy was touted as a way to help Zelis streamline its business, integrating payments and communication with Sapphire’s consumer navigation tools.
Zelis also merged its payment systems with RedCard Systems’ in 2019, which was able to help create a healthcare optimization platform.
