Football.London have revealed that Fabio Paratici has added former Real Madrid scout Jeff Vetere to his backroom structure at Tottenham.
Paratici has revamped Tottenham’s scouting and recruitment departments this summer following the departures of both Steve Hitchen and Brian Carey.
Spurs snapped up Gretar Steinsson from Everton, with the former Bolton right-back taking over as the North London club’s new performance director.
The Lilywhites have also poached Andy Scoulding from Rangers, with the 40-year-old expected to spearhead the identification of British talent.
According to Football.London, Vetere has become the latest addition to the scouting department at Tottenham as Paratici continues to revamp the club’s recruitment structure.
Apart from his time at Real Madrid, Vetere has worked as the chief scout at Aston Villa before spending a spell as technical director at Charlton and then sporting director at Birmingham City.
The report reveals that the 56-year-old, who has been out of football since 2018, started working for Spurs a couple of weeks ago.
Spurs Web Opinion
It appears as if Levy has given Paratici the full licence to restructure Tottenham’s scouting and recruitment department in the way he sees fit, which is certainly a big vote of confidence in the Italian by the Spurs chairman.
That suggests that Levy sees Paratici as the man to build Tottenham over the long run, irrespective of how long Conte stays at the club. That also likely rules out Pochettino returning to Spurs anytime soon as the Argentine does not strike me as a Paratici type of manager.
