Report: Tottenham coach worked with England Under-21s this week
The Daily Mail have revealed that Yaya Toure, who is currently in a coaching role with the Tottenham academy, lent his experience to England Under-21s this week ahead of their clashes against Italy and Germany.
Spurs confirmed earlier this summer that Toure had joined as the club’s Under-16 coach, with the former Manchester City legend working towards his coaching badges at Hotspur Way.
Speaking to BT Sport’s YouTube channel (26/08/22 – 17:15) during the Champions League draw last month, the 39-year-old admitted that he is enjoying his work at the North London club and thanked the “Tottenham family” for making him feel at home.
According to The Mail, the three-time Premier League winner travelled to St George’s Park this week to work with the Young Lions head coach Lee Carsley and assistant coach, Joleon Lescott, who was his former teammate at Man City.
Toure is said to have spent two days with the Under-21s, and shared his experience with the squad.
The Ivorian would have seen some familiar faces at St George’s Park, with three Spurs players in the form of Oliver Skipp, Djed Spence and Ryan Sessegnon, having been called up to the England Under-21 squad.

It is a great gesture by Toure to make time for the Under-21 players and spend a couple of days with them. That suggests that the 39-year-old is genuinely passionate about sharing his experience and helping young players fulfil their potential, which is perhaps why Spurs were keen to have him on board.
