Two of London’s busiest rail stations hit by flash floods just before rush hour
Victoria and King’s Cross station have been hit by flash flooding just as people are heading home from work.
Footage shows people wading through ankle-deep water at an entrance of Victoria after torrential rain fell down over London.
It brings to an end a prolonged dry spell with scorching hot weather, but heavy downpours on such dry ground has led to floods in several parts of the country.
The Met Office issued an amber weather warning for London and the South East today as thunderstorms put business and people’s homes at risk of flooding.
Victoria station appeared to be flooding at one entrance, while outside King’s Cross waves were being created on roads.
One man outside King’s Cross was caught on camera valiantly trying to clear a drain with a broom as floodwater flows relentlessly.
