4 big trades NFL teams should make before the start of the 2022 season
By late August and early September, NFL teams more or less understand with whom they’ll be entering the regular season. The occasional tense position battle aside, most starters are locked in, and most roster spots are locked up.
But deadlines (even artificial ones) usually spur action. Nothing motivates more than procrastination, right? (Right?) In a stranger summer than most, there are a lot of good/interesting players available who don’t necessarily fit well in their current digs yet could make another squad very happy. And they’re still worth every bit of the investment.
Want a pass rusher in his prime? They’re in stock! How about how some serviceable quarterbacks with upside (or lack thereof)? Good news: Those are available too? What about a big name who could still be a big piece on a contender? Heck yes, name your draft capital/player price!
With the 2022 NFL season just a few weeks away, here are a few big trades we’d like to see teams swing before the chaos of the regular season begins.
