Halifax customers quit in droves after bosses urge staff to display pronouns on name badges
HALIFAX customers quit in droves after bosses urged staff to display a preferred gender pronoun on name badges.
More than 10,000 protested on social media with hundreds vowing to boycott the bank.
Some cut up cash cards after a Halifax social media boss wrote: “If you disagree with our values, you’re welcome to close your account.”
One woman, 50, who did so said: “I don’t want to be having conversations about gender when I go into my bank.
“I’d rather they be focused on lowering interest rates.”
The row began when Halifax tweeted a snap of a uniform badge with the words “she/her/hers” below the name Gemma.
