Mollie and xentral Announce Collaboration
Dutch payment service provider Mollie’s services will be integrated into German enterprise resources planning platform provider xentral’s offerings under a collaboration launched today and effective immediately, the companies announced.
The arrangement is aimed at providing small- and medium-sized eCommerce businesses “smoother” payment and order-management services, xentral announced.
“Automated processes between eCommerce platforms, warehouses and accounting systems have long been standard. That's why it's important to use a payment service provider (PSP) that is also directly integrated with an ERP system,” Annett Polaszewski-Plath, a managing director at Mollie, said in a prepared statement.
The companies stated in the announcement that one of the benefits for merchants is that they will have a clearer picture of cash flow and an easier time managing merchandise. Customers, the companies stated, will have access to “the most common payment methods in Europe.”
Mollie was founded in 2004 and offers a payments API that works across various payment methods. The company states it has more than 130,000 customers and more than 700 employees spread across offices in Amsterdam; Lisbon, Portugal; London; Paris; and Munich.
In June, Mollie and data network Plaid announced a collaboration to ease the process of opening online stores and receive payments in Europe and the United Kingdom.

ERP firm xentral describes itself as a producer of “lean ERP cloud software that bundles business processes in one place.”
In August 2021, the company announced it had raised $75 million in Series B funding to use for product development and expansion in the United Kingdom. Benedikt Sauter, xentral co-founder, said at the time in a prepared statement: “Our goal is that a business owner who decides on Friday that they need a flexible ERP can implement and configure xentral over the weekend and hand it over to their team on Monday.” Regardless of their industry, he said, SMBs “can minimize administrative overhead, maximize process efficiency, and focus on building new products and services for their customers.”
