The View fans believe ‘cursed’ show PREDICTED beloved A-list guest’s death in resurfaced clip
THE VIEW fans believe that the “cursed” show has predicted a beloved A-list guest’s death years prior.
A clip from the show resurfaced on Reddit and fans are creeped out from the eerieness of it.
Norm MacDonald was a beloved comedian, known for his time on Saturday Night Live.
He never failed to make everyone who he came in contact with laugh.
The actor appeared on The View in November 2000 to talk about his new show, politics, and more.
The hosts tried to get him off the topic of politics and laughed when his phone rang.
Star Jones and the others told him to pick up the phone and he had a smirk on his face the entire time.
Norm picked it up and said, “Hello” then took it away from his ear.
Then the comedian explained that it was all a joke.
“Oh, you know what? The thing is this. You know Matt Strauss?”

One of the hosts responded, “Yeah, the producer.”
“He told me it would be funny like ‘why don’t you carry a cell phone on? and let it ring and pretend like there’s a guy on it’,” Norm explained the joke.
Star asked, “Is there anybody on it?”
The actor stuttered, “Yeah, it’s a thing. It’s pretend.”
“You know what Norm?” she said. “You’re a dead man.”
Everyone in the audience laughed and Norm suggested that she talk to Matt.
The hosts seemed annoyed and moved on to the next subject.
THE CURSE
A fan reposted the clip of Star saying, “You know what Norm? You’re a dead man” to Reddit.
They labeled it, “The Curse of the View.”
Although most of the comments on there were talking about how he wasn’t asked to return, some of them pointed out how the show predicted his early death.
On Youtube, fans came back to the video after he died to point out the irony of it all.
“Norm, you’re a dead man. How ironic,” wrote one Youtube user.
Another fan quoted the “you’re a dead man line” and said, “What a bunch of losers.”
Many others chimed in with, “Rest in peace” and called Norm an “absolute legend.”
LEGEND GONE
Norm passed away at the age of 61 on September 14, 2021.
The comedian’s management firm confirmed his death to Deadline and revealed the star was fighting cancer for almost a decade.
The comedian’s longtime producing partner and friend Lori Jo Hoekstra revealed, “He was most proud of his comedy. He never wanted the diagnosis to affect the way the audience or any of his loved ones saw him.
“Norm was a pure comic. He once wrote that ‘a joke should catch someone by surprise, it should never pander.’ He certainly never pandered. Norm will be missed terribly.”
Many celebrities including Seth Rogen, Patton Oswalt, Steve Martin, and more all chimed in and sent their condolences.
Norm first rose to fame on SNL, after starring on Star Search and Roseanne.
During his tenure on SNL, he was most remembered for his role as the Weekend Update anchor for three seasons, most notably for his dry, quick wit on news events.
When he wasn’t behind the desk, Norm would also appear in various sketches, including his memorable impersonation of Burt Reynolds on Celebrity Jeopardy!.
He then went on to land his own leading sitcom and a talk show and star in other roles throughout his career.

He left behind a son, Dylan, who was born in 1993.
