Concord vice mayor arrested for DUI
Concord Vice Mayor Laura Hoffmeister was arrested last week for a DUI, she confirmed in a statement.
On May 25, Hoffmeister said she was pulled over by Clayton police after having dinner and wine with friends and subsequently arrested after police determined she had been driving under the influence.
In her statement, she said she takes “full responsibility.”
“I am extremely disappointed in myself and deeply sorry in my lack of judgment,” the statement read. “I sincerely apologize to the residents of Concord and Clayton, my colleagues, my family and friends.”
Hoffmeister said she has already “begun taking action” by seeking treatment to “ensure that this does not happen again.”
