THE very last thing post-pandemic, recession-threatened Britain needs is a rail strike.
Yet as the Prime Minister and Chancellor grapple with 1970s-style spiralling prices and energy bills, militant unions stand ready to seize their chance.
Sensing weakness, these brutalist hard leftists see a series of actions hitting Network Rail and 15 train operators as their chance to cause maximum pain to the Tories.
That it could also cripple food and medical supplies for millions of hard-pressed families is worth it to the reckless RMT leadership.
Meanwhile, there is a deafening silence from Labour.
Deputy leader Angela Rayner has been unceasing in her attacks on Boris Johnson — putting out 65 public comments on Partygate.
She has posted her criticism of the privatisation of Channel 4 and even told her 500,000 Twitter followers about her appearance on Loose Women.
But on the biggest union walkout since the 1926 General Strike? Nothing.
We have a question for the Labour deputy leader.

SCENES of horrific half-term queues at airports might be easily dismissed as a little local difficulty for the budget airlines.
